On my biggest journey yet

Hi. I'm here to try doing things a different way. I'm 29, new mom to a wonderful 5mo little boy, and I stopped drinking 65 days ago, which was my primary way of coping with life and making friends. Before my son was born I didn't have a care in the world about who I surrounded myself with or my physical and mental health. My first time meeting him is a wild story for another day. But since then, I've realized I need to keep better company. Which meant removing a lot of people from my life, and putting distance and boundaries between many others. So while my husband and I were waiting for our very health, 10 week premature son to be released from the NICU in a city over 300 miles from our home, we decided to put down roots. We're painfully far from my friends and family, which is hard but a healthy choice, since they're toxic to me more often than not is the best thing. Now, at 30 years old and a brand new mom, I need to learn how to make better choices in all my relationships with people and make sure that I only really bond with people that add things to my life mentally and emotionally. It's been almost 6 months, and I haven't made a connection with anyone, so here I am! Thanks so much y'all

Hey @Lostandlonely91 , welcome to 7 cups ❤
Having a child of own is a great responsibility in itself , it is so very heart warming to read how you're willing to make better choices and decisions in life in general by prioritizing your child ~ super awesome of you to make this decision of focusing on your overall health to be able to provide a healthy and loving atmosphere to your child as well ~ so glad you're here , it might feel that not much has happened in 6 months ~ but even consciously taking such decisions and moving towards a healthier lifestyle for yourself and loved ones is so big in itself . Proud of you for taking these steps , you've got thissss! ❤
