! What was your first impression about your partner/good friend/best friend?
Oh well. I thought she was awesome and wanted to become her friend since first day of 6th grade, but sadly like all other friendships ours drifted apart as well.

My bestfriend and I had a rocky start to our relationship when we first met in high school but our friendship has blossomed and now I couldn't live without her.
For my husband ... I'll be honest I thought he was cute. As I got to know him, I think it was his sweetness and caring nature that sucked me in.

My partner is smart, it's very important for me and we met in school so my first impression was really easy to understand.
And I had a friend and we actually met in social media and I don't know how I got that impression but when I first sent him a message I got that impression of caring and a capacity of being a good friend. And he was like that until we tear apart.

It's always sad to lose a relationship and it sounds like it was not a pleasant "break up".
Relationships can be hard work as the years pile on. Remember that friendships do break up and that's not necessarily a bad thing ... something better may be just around the corner.

My first impression about my best friend was that she was nice and super talkative, which meant that I could listen to her.
That was 8 years ago. We havent been on speaking terms for 6 months. I want to talk to her, but I feel like I may be looked down upon my family and friends.
@ItsaMeEmily
Doing things for other people can been tiring and extremely draining on your mental health bank.
Depending on why you have had a falling out and what you want to do might be some things to think about before making a decision.

The first impression of my girlfriend was that she was easy to talk to, very open honest communication and she was so very kind, a sweetheart. And I still feel all those things about her 😍 🏳️🌈
Well, I thought he was just as weird as I was! We were the only two night owls up that late while playing video games. We randomly met in a game to find we were neighbors! Talk about a hallmark move.
@CalmingStar Wow, this is so cute! :D
Mmmm ... coffee!
My first impression about my best friend C is that she was a hard worker with a lot of energy and life, and that is how I still think of her now even when she is battling cancer and going through chemo treatments that leave her exhausted,
My first impression of my former (potential) good friend MA was that he also had a lot of energy, liked to talk, and understood what it was like to have anxiety that would bottom out into depression and even debilitating panic attacks. However, when I attempted to confide in him later, after I also found out about another "side" to him, he became emotionally distant, only a shell of the good listener I thought he was, and really seemed to take a lackadaisical casual "I don't care" approach to my confiding in him on what causes my anxiety. At times, he seemed opposite of the person I first knew him as. I wonder if he is bipolar?
When I first met my husband I thought he was like an elf! He made me laugh a lot and he seemed confident.
Ooh, good question. I had been on dating sites for a long time, there are always a few people on there that make me think "I'm not ready for her" or some such thing. Well, one of those sent me a message. I replied right away, and we set up a dinner date. I got there a bit early, got seated. Then the door opened, the heavens opened up and an angel walked in. It was her.
Now, we are on equal footing, I am working on improving my self image and a few of my challenges. I want to be good enough for her, and I think I can do that.
