Anyone else that has only ever one relationship?

I am just curious. As I have been with my lovely boyfriend for nearly 3 years now and he is my first realtionship, ever. And I am nearing 27. Late start, what can I say. There is not much I can complain about with our relationship.

How do you know if he is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with? How do you know if what you feel is love or you are just use ot the person and idea of a boyfriend? (When you have nothing else to compare to and don't know yourself very well)

I guess once in a while I get in phases where I am curious and miss the exciement of new relationships. And wonder if I can be attractive to anyone else. And just how I would be with another person. Etcetc..I get into my own head.

Whats everyone else's thought on this?

Same here, except we are going on 12 years. I will say if you feel it in your heart this is it, then let it be it. If nothing is wrong and the love and respect is still there and you have mutual understanding of each other and there's nothing more you wish for, then let it be the one. However, if you have any inkling or feeling like there is more out there, then don't hold back. I'm 35 and really regret letting this be my only relationship. I too feel like there is nobody else out there fore me, but not because I am satisfied where I am at but because I feel I never let myself experience anything else and at my age I feel it's to late to bother. Don't hold yourself back at all if you feel there is more, then maybe there is or maybe there isn't, but allow yourself to feel it and see what happens, but if things really are good, let it be good.

@rollingthunder Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I do sometimes feel like there is more out there, and can picture myself down the road that if I never left him, I will feel that inkling of regret once in a while like I do now. I am sure I will be happy and he will be a great partner. That is where my hestitation comes in, I have broke up with him once earlier this year and got back together few days after cause it hurt so much and didn't feel right. (I am sure it was all the break up feels I never dealt with before). If I let go, he will be gone for good for sure.

He is so good to me and I don't even really know what else I want other than to know what else is there. If there is a relationship out there for me that I wouldn't ever feel this inkling of hesitance and un-sure every so often?

I will have to say, what you said " I will say if you feel it in your heart this is it, then let it be it. If nothing is wrong and the love and respect is still there and you have mutual understanding of each other and there's nothing more you wish for, then let it be the one."

Is still really hitting it home. Maybe I have to let it be. Let my heart stop stuggling with the concept that I am no longer single haha. He is kindest person to let me be independent and thinks I am funny...it really is pretty rare what we have....

we will see.. sigh another episode of when I get trapped in my mind.
