If you have ever felt completely drained - emotionally, mentally, physically, then it is possible you need to take a closer look at your boundaries. From my journey as a listener and as a human being, emotional burnout is the norm when there are no clear boundaries.

I used to think saying "Yes", ignoring limits, and pushing through was me being strong but it was actually what wore me down. I didn't feel like myself until I started setting boundaries, small ones at first. Boundaries don't make me selfish, they make me well.

While therapy and medications are important tools for mental health, we also have to be mindful of what we allow into our lives. Boundaries are like a protective shield, like the umbrella in the illustration. They help us filter out the emotional noise and keep our energy for the things that matter.

🔸 3 Ways to Set Healthy Boundaries 🔸

✅ Reassess Your Relationships
Take a close look at the people in your life. Are there ones who constantly drain you or push past your comfort zone? It’s okay to choose relationships that feel safe and supportive.

✅ Learn to Say “No” Without Guilt
You don’t have to do everything. Saying “no” isn’t a weakness - it’s a way to protect your energy and prioritize your well-being.

✅ Listen to Your Body and Emotions
If you’re constantly tired, overwhelmed or irritated, it may be your mind and body asking for better boundaries. Pay attention to those signals. They’re trying to help you.

“Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.” - Brené Brown

Setting boundaries isn’t about building walls. It’s about building balance.

It’s not selfish.

It’s essential.

Keep going.
