I am fed up

Hi:

I have very mild autism, which is a disability that no one really understands and I often feel that other people think they can treat me like a doormat anytime they want by walking through me like I am not there.

I am so sorry that you have to deal with that! You are worth being treated with respect and with value. I know there are people out there that will treat you the way you deserve.

Take care!

The ones who have treated me this way are members of my family and especially when they come to my area, they are otherwise "Too busy" and have time for other people and only seem to meet me for dinner for maybe an hour or two, even if I have not seen them for years at a time. Believe me, I am ready to blow up at them too.

Then I have other family who want nothing to me do with me just because I have autism because they get the idea that autism is a mental illness.

@Summershy

You should always be proud of yourself. No other individual can ever define you. You are great, I know this. So engage in other activities and be happy. Devote time to yourself and friends who care for you.

Take Care!

You are right I should not let some people define me when they don't even know me or don't care to. I know that if I call them out, they won't change their mind about me. I normally do stay busy but sometimes I can't help but feel sad and angry with my family. Right now, I feel sad and angry.

It breaks my heart because I want a relationship with my family and I would like them to do more things with me
