Me and my boyfriend have been together since the beginning of high school. We both have been graduated for over 9 months now. We have a really good relationship for the most part but we broke up for 2 days about 6 months ago. It was over text and it was super dumb. But my parents were in the room with me when we were texting and they saw me crying and hurting. My boyfriend was too afraid to apologize to them for hurting me and now he feels like he cant talk to my family because they dont like him anymore because he never apologized to them. They have said that he is welcome to come over anytime since the breakup thing happened but he still thinks they hate him. My parents have said that they wish he would take accountability and apologize for hurting me but they havent brought it up in a few months. I dont know what to do...

I don't think there is anything you can do, unless you know if there is something else you could act on.

I can only suggest, and it seems best to suggest that the only thing that can take things towards a resolve is for your parents and your boyfriend to talk to each other to clear the air and empathize with each other.

If I had a partner, I would ask her "It seems coming over will be difficult as things stand between you and my parents, I feel the best thing and the only thing that can be done, and what I wish can be done, is for you two to have a conversation with each other to sort things out" .The same message, but with a different context will be needed to be given to my family as well so they can get on board with the idea if possible.

It seems the best thing that could be done and I would do if I had a similar situation going on, unless the partner rejects this idea, in that case realistically nothing seems could be done
