Relationships Not Defined By Proximity!!

Friendship is one of the form of those close relationships. We all had friends in high school, graduation, masters and even at workplace. Probably many of us have experienced the separation as we all moved to different places, college or company. We all know that emotion right.

When, just one or couple of months left and you realize you'll passed the high school/ college, pack up all things and head to home and after that in a new pursuit. Your friends would also realize and do the same. A new pursuit will start and this feeling of goodbye will seem permanent. In many ways, you will feel like the last one.

When I joined college, I didn't build good friendships. I was shy and picky about hanging out with these classmates. Because I constantly felt uncomfortable as they all are fun, joyous and my focus was study, library and lab. And, this feeling was till my second year of the graduation.

By the time, I got a small group. They were good and I always felt welcomed and comfortable. Felt like valued. A feel of close connection. In second year and third year of college was fun. After classes, sitting in cafeteria and talking. Joining Boys Room and playing Chess, Badminton. Playing basketball or volleyball match. All was good.

Friends are like the provider of emotional support. But as we move, the time passed, we realize we will have new life goals and take us in different corners of the nation or perhaps the world. So, soon we start missing those joyous moments. And I know missing those moments aren't a good feeling at all. It feels like if we could be back to college or school days. But, we have to keep moving. It is hard to believe that all will come to an end in such a short period.

And, leaving the high school or college also reminds me the initial anxiety we experience. It becomes hard to come to a new place without knowing anyone. So, having a strong group of friends is always one of our important personal goals. Having a group of close people around us make feel good and confident. We will happy with ourselves, But, we know soon we have to start from scratch in new place to build another group.

I know how hard it seems and nervous one feel. I experienced that. In those moments I pushed myself to realize that I've done it once and can do again. I learned that it's never late to start a new friendship or take an existing friendship to close or bestie status. We need to stay hopeful that we will do it and find another awesome group of friends.

Also, I realized that after graduating too, we stayed in touch. End of time in college not end the frienships we formed. We are here with each other, it's just the steps to one other's place or amount of time to travel each other's place might have increased. But, they're not the metric to judge how strong our friendships are.

We are not alone who have this kind of thoughts always racing in mind but they also thinking same. So, we could take steps to stay strong and connected with whatever medium it is possible regardless of the miles between two increased.

Still, you know that it won't mark end of the friendships but it would be nice if you and your friends plan to make the best of what time left. I know that it is hard to bid bye and start a new journey. But, realize that you are blessed with some good friendships. It won't be easy to stay connected 24*7 now, but yeah you will make it work. I believe.

So, point is your friends are going to be your friends only. A relationship isn't defined by its proximity.
