Trust while traveling
i am in a relationship with someone who i love a lot. he travels a lot for work. i am a naturally anxious person, i dont trust him even though he's never done something to break it.
hes on a trip with a female coworker right now, eating 2-3 meals a day with her, and i am having such a hard time finding inner peace with it. he has been kind and considerate when i've brought it up and told him im worried.
i called him 10 times and i regret it, i feel embarassed. i dont know how to soothe trust by myself. i see myself pushing him away. i feel like i just made the situation worse.
Hello @Pinksky996 I understand how you feel towards your partner and his current traveling situation. Honestly, I’m the same way but I’ve developed coping skills. I’ll distract my anxiety by talking to a friend, shopping online, hanging out, venting on this app, focus on building my self esteem etc. The last thing you want to do is be annoying. Being a “naturally anxious person” is something you need to work on for yourself. That in itself should keep you busy so you can begin to have inner peace. Being annoying and constantly calling is embarrassing and can push him away, he’s working. Trust me, I totally understand it’s easier to just push that call button but that’s a temporary fix. He is still going to travel for work and being in a state of panic everytime is stressful to your health. Vent on the app to keep your mind busy, melatonin helps, watch a good movie etc.
I’ve been there and calling 10 times won’t make the situation better. I have a rule…one call and one text…and I’ll let him lead since he’s on a work trip. Just relax and take things one step at a time. I hope this helps.
