When you need to say something important to someone far away, do you do it by text or with a call?

Communication is very important in our interactions, but there can be different ways to let it work, so probably it also depends on someone's personality and on the relationship we have with the person.
Let's discuss a bit about it!

* If you could choose the best way to reach you out, what way would it be if someone you have a relationship with has to tell you something relevant but they are far away?

I think there are a few things to weigh in these kinds of situations.
How you and this person usually communicate?
Do you and your partner usually text or call? Whichever is usually your prefered method of communication will probably be easier to work with in general.
How able do you feel to communicate this thing?
If this is gong to be really difficult for you to do, texting is often easier as it gives you more time to respond.
Is it a question you need to ask or something you need to inform them of?
If you are asking something, a text will give them time to give a better answer where as a call may put them on the spot.
How personal you want the conversation to be?
Many people feel calls are more personal than texts. If you want to be able to reassure them of something a call may be they way to go.
What reaction do you expect from them?
If they might have an adverse reaction to what you had to say, you should make a decision - for your own mental health - on how you want to recieve that reaction by usuing that method of communication.
Also, this person is a person too. They may have a strong text/call preference. This can lead to them rejecting your call and texting to ask why you called. They also might call after seeing your initial text. Part of any kind of relationship is keeping in mind their thoughts and feelings as well.
@BeyondTheInvisible I'd prefer to call them. It feels like there's less chance of miscommunication that way.

I think the best way to reach me would be by phone and call me because it is easier to understand their emotions and get a faster response.
