Advice
me and my girlfriend have been together for 8 months as of today. Over the weekend a guy she had gone to a concert with 8 years ago, asked her what she was doing over the weekend through text. She said well, I am probably going to be with my boyfriend then said what’s up. He said he had tickets to Josh Abbott and wanted to ask her for old times sake. He did acknowledge she was dating and said I did not know you were seeing somebody. That is the part of the conversation that she told me about. I saw her phone and she then said I still have the Josh Abbott shirt from 8 years ago and asked if he was single. Then said I’m sorry I couldn’t help out. I had a conversation with her and asked why did you even respond. That is weird a guy is asking you from that long ago. She later apologized but not after we argued over the weekend. She said I’m an empathetic person. He asked her on a date? She said it wouldn’t happen again. I’m sorry etc. I felt very hurt by her responding and it hurt my trust a bit. Am I being unreasonable? We are in a serious relationship.

It makes sense to feel unsettled in this situation and I would be too if my partner suddenly received a similar message or was interacting in a similar fashion
Sometimes we just try to assume the worst and torture ourselves with the negative thoughts which is why I think you can try calmly talking to her about why she messaged , what is this guy's intention of messaging after so long and also share how you feel about all this , she should know you are not comfortable and being in a relationship you both should value each other's feelings and respect the trust you both build 💙 it can be hard but try to calmly talk so the conversation doesn't turn into argument and you guys can reach to some clarity
