Age gap is causing her to back away
Hi
So I have a bit of an issue and I am unsure what to do, so any help would be appreciated.
So I met this girl at work a few months back and there was an instant attraction, about a month after first meeting we begin to message, it was then that I realised she was 19, and I’m 34, however I do not look like your average 34 year old guy, I look very young for my age.
anyway, we instantly click and despite her grievance about the age gap we continue to message and talk, which over the last 2 months has led us to meet on quite a lot of occasions, when we are together she can’t keep away, we kiss, touch, have sex, have a laugh and it’s quite obvious there is chemistry, we cuddle for hours after sex and talk very openly.
This girl wants to be in constant communication with me, she’s always telling me about everything going on in her life pretty much, she’s very open and doesn’t hide anything, she wants to tell me when she goes to see friends etc, she even told me that past relationships have tried to control her or got pissed off with her when she’s gone to see friends or things like that. I have assured her that I’m not like that and respect that we both have our own lives apart from each other.
When we are together she always wants to be around me, she goes out of her way to come to my work for a coffee etc knowing full well I’m there, a few weeks ago she went cold and distant on me and I got to the source of the cause, which was basically she was scared of getting close and didn’t want to like me. We sorted it out and continued seeing each other.
Well last night she was due to come round to mine after dropping a friend home from work but before she came round she began to message me with loads of questions about my last relationships etc, of which I admit, because I looked very young I feel a bit of a late bloomer due to the lack of confidence to put myself out there until my mid-late 20’s so haven’t had many serious relationships, she then proceeded to tell me she didnt see it going anywhere, and the main reason is again, the age gap. She said it feels wrong and she can’t see herself introducing me to her parents because of it, although her mother already knows about me and my age.
whenever I tell her we should leave it then and stuff she can’t let me go, it’s like her head is telling her that the age gap means it won’t work out but yet when we are together it feels completely normal. Every time I try and leave it she wants me to talk to her, as though she doesn’t want to let me go and wants me to change her mind even though she’s telling me she doesn’t want anything serious, I asked her what she considers serious, because to me, the only thing that will change is that we are exclusive to each other and we don’t want to see anybody else, other than that then I won’t stop her having her own life. We were up until about 3am talking last night and she was quite clearly frustrated with her inner conflict.
do I tell her I can continue to see her as nothing serious, and is there much of a chance that her mindset will change the more we see each other? I like this girl quite a lot and it’s quite clear she likes me quite a lot too but she is struggling to move past the age gap.
do I tell her I am adamant I want a relationship with her?
or do I now ignore her messages/calls and let her get pissed off with me despite the fact that any conversation we have may just be going round in circles?
thanks for taking the time to read
@Jayw172 okay, I swear I’m not doing this cause I want to get back with him. And, I am gonna make it clear this warning will be only once. Adamant is married with kids. His wife and him are gonna be together forever. Even if they weren’t going to be , he is using you at best for sex, he doesn’t respect you. You are not the only lover he has. I’m sure of it. I don’t know what neurodivergent he is, but either one of them is not good relationship material. He might be gay among other things. He doesn’t value you. Even if best case scenario you get married in an open relationship, he has kids with his ex wife, who is still his wife. You are right now, very honestly working for a position as a side chick. For a while. Which is better than your previous position but if I was you I would look for better alternatives too. The guy gets off with people being attracted to him, he is not planning to keep you.
@Fangirling99999 despite how he seems, he tends to drop chicks very easily. Like a zillion over the years. This guy has no pair bonding factors working for him. You won’t be the exception.
@Jayw172 a lot of age gap doesn't work or more issues arise due to maturity level different life stages too good luck though.
It appears that there is a considerable difference in your levels of maturity. Being aware of that may be very important. Think, think and think again before you commit.
Good luck. 🍀
