Am I being too sensitive?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 6 yrs. He is 25 and I am 24. We have been living together for about 5 years now. I’ve noticed recently that when I tell him about something new I’m doing, he always gives me “better” options or suggestions and it makes me feel like he isn’t supportive of the decision I am making. For example, I told him I want to do at home workouts versus being in the gym and he always makes a point to ask me to go to the gym with him even tho I told him I don’t want to. I also told him that I was thinking about registering for an Practical nursing program. And his first response was suggesting I become and RN which is one step ahead a LPN. He’s always suggesting better options or what he thinks is better when I think he should just support what I tell him.

Hello, I hope you are having a good day. In the end, everyone thinks of it differently. I think this is definitely a valid concern. However, it really all comes down to communication. You definitely hear this all the time, but communication is key. He really could be trying to help you. Some people think that it is more genuine to show care and suggest other options. Have a conversation with him about it. Ask him why he does what he does, and tell him what you have going on in your mind. Good luck!
