BFF-> BF/GF?

I’m looking for ‘At what point do people leave a best friendship, and enter a mutually exclusive relationship’ sort of thing. My best friend and I just admitted to liking each other, and we want to take it to more than that, but don’t know where to place ourselves.

Imo you do not leave you just add.... for most of my life my partner is also my BFF
Now that the romantic part is fading we are still friends and live as roommates / friends
there is no set boundaries or situations ......... i strong friendship helps and when or IF the other does not last those IMO who are friends can navigate that change better as well
