Boyfriend fell out of love with me

Hi! So my partner of 9 months are in a LDR for 2 months. He is coming home next week. Two weeks ago he told me that he thinks that he doesn't love me anymore. When I asked him why he says that, he said that he doesn't feel the same excitement as he felt in the past and that he thinks that the spark is gone. He also told me that he only miss me a little. On the bright side, my partner told me that he deeply cares about me and that he really wants to make it work because he sees a future with me and I made him the happiest guy. This is his first serious relationship.

What am I asking here is of you think that the feelings of love can come back once they're gone and how I can help him to feel in love. Is this relationship doomed?

Feeling the excitement "in love" lasts 6 months to 2 years. Looks like he is loving and caring but has no insights and experience with these types of emotions. Maybe you can send him some educational links on it?

Patiently handling the situation and finding out what he expects or desires in your relationship can help.

It sounds like he’s being honest about this with you in an attempt

to have a deep, meaningful and transparent relationship with you, as what he says about caring deeply for you shows he wants to be with you. If you talk about this with him it can be good to let him know how you value his honesty and try to listen to him. However it is normal for that spark or passion to die down
