Do I still wait?
Hello! I came here looking for some advice about my relationship, so here I go. My family is religious, so I was in that environment a lot (though I'm not religious). In that community, I met my best friend. After about 2 years or so of being in the closet, I secretly came out to him. After that, he confessed to me, and we started dating in secret. His parents never really liked me (to them me wearing jeans, a flannel, and short hair, was too punkish), and me being queer and nonbinary would definitely not fly. Long story short, they found out and banned us from seeing each other. We still secretly talk and have agreed to keep on dating. We can only talk once in a blue moon, and I've felt some strain on our relationship. We're currently waiting a year for us to both be adults, but I wonder if I'm holding him back from being in another happy relationship. It's been a few months since we last spoke, and he hasn't replied to me. I wonder if this means I should move on, but I love him dearly, and the idea that he might still be waiting for me and I left him terrifies me. I also have no social life and serious anxiety, so I would have to start from scratch and be without anyone again. So with everything in mind, I keep wondering, should I continue waiting?

I know that you simply do not know ...is he pulling away and trying to move on or does he not have a way to contact you..... maybe his parents or maybe he has made other decisions the reality is only you who know him can make up your mind in how long before you may want to move on....
when people have a long distance type things often based on someday we will be together .... sometimes if a real person comes in the picture we may question if we feel a future maybe is better then here and now.... do you feel like you could move on? have you questioned on how long/ what is the plan is it workable? are you hanging on as many people often do about losing our first love.
