His Perfect... BUT..
I am currently in a relationship with a man who treats me well, has alot of respect for myself and my family. However, when I comes to showing me attention and being affectionate (in the ways I desire) - he doesn't seem to provide me with those needs. We have discussed it many times and I have explicitly explained what I need from him and the things I like that make me feel loved and wanted. After our discussions, for the next few days, things are okay as I feel he tries to make up to me.. but it slowly fades. I shouldn't have to beg or asked to be held, kissed and showered with affection. I understand Rach person has a different love language, hence the numerous conversations I have had with him. I try be understand and almost always make up excuses for feeling this way. But i know i am not crazy, I know I deserved to feel the full extent of love.
I've woken up this morning in tears, I feel empty - this is definitelyeffecting my mental health. How can everything within the relationship be amazing except this one? And it is a such a huge chunk of what makes a relationship 'a relationship'.
I feel crazy and stupid for craving attention? Am I being immature or is it worth being upset over?
I love him to bits and i know he loves me... but I need intimacy, connection, affection. I want to feel loved and adored. Advice?
Hi there,
We aren't supposed to provide any advice because it could potentially be wrong. I'm not an expert, but when it comes to relationships - I think we all have something to say about it..
For now, I can just say that we all have different ways and different degrees at which we shower affection. And I've noticed males usually have to put more effort into showing their affection because they simply don't know how much is actually enough or how to show it.
In my current relationship, my girlfriend is way more affectionate on chats than in real life. It's just how she is. Shes able to find the appropriate stickers, emojis or gifs to express he affection, but come real life she turns into an awkward kid, but deep down she expects me to show her affection, or else she reacts by becoming quiet or sad.
Our brain may think it's showering all the affection, but our body language and actions show otherwise. What we consider as affection may not be the same for the other person. But I could be wrong of course. It's different for everyone and I've only been able to share my situation with you. I hope you'll be able to figure something out for yourself as well! :)
