I need clarification

I’ve been speaking to this guy for a while on and off from work..he’s currently in a very toxic unstable relationship and we are very good friends.

we do have an amazing connection. Recently he has been opening up about his personal struggles at home and his relationship..as well as messaging me daily. Even instigating conversation when I don’t reply. Definitely more than usual. Nothing massively personal from my end but a lot of his feelings and present issues are talked about. I don’t really feel the need to open up about mine bc it isn’t the right time.

I want to know if I’m mad and he doesn’t really seem interested or like me or whether there is something there. This is a big step from previous where it was occasional conversation outside of work and definitely not convos talking about his girlfriend or feelings

please help.
