hey!

if you're feeling insecure about something then it might be a good idea to relflect on those feelings. is it an irrational fear? is it something that can be solved? thinking about them can really help you feel a little more grounded and think more rationally.

if you want to talk to someone about this, i'm always here :)

You are 100% correct. Insecurities can and do kill many relationships before they can even get started. Why? They are heavy, taxing, and exhausting. I've seen situations where it kills not just one relationship the person gets into, but every single one they try to get into - because the issue isn't with the person they choose, but THEM, and sometimes they fail to realize that. They sometimes try to rationalize that the only ingredient they need is a more understanding or helpful partner to get them out of their insecurities, but that is far from reality.

To be clear, this isn't your new partner's problem to help you solve. They can support you, but it isn't their responsibility to help you through it or help you solve it.

This is something that you must seek the appropriate help to address. You're not alone. There are many people out there suffering from insecurities, usually stemming from self-esteem issues. There are many cases where people have sought help for these issues and they now live quite fantastic lives with people they love and it doesn't impact them or their relationship anymore. So, there is hope - even for you.
