Jealous monster

I am in a fantastic relationship with my boyfriend for almost 6 years now! We are have a great loving relationship and he truly is my best friend. I just have one issue.. I get extremely jealous. My boyfriend has never broken my trust but I have the hardest time when he is texting or messaging a friend. Its like a different person takes over my body and i become this jealous monster. I ask my boyfriend who he is talking to and he always tells me. But there has been many times where he says "I need to get over this jealous stuff". I get really nervous and anxious everytime it happens. I know I can 100 % trust him but why do I turn into this horrible monster. Then later on after the incident I typically mentally beat myself up because I don't understand why I keep letting this jealous/anxiety sink back in.

Help!! How do I stop this beast!?

Hi! I understand being jealous may feel very very strange. I'm sure all people at some point of their life may have been jealous because of a SO speaking to someone else. Maybe you and your Bf need to talk about this. Explain to him about how you feel and what makes you feel that way, you never know. He may be able to explain some things and you may find the closure you're looking for.
Cheers ^w^

@SeriouslyLey123 thank you! We have talked about it and he says that he would never cheat on me and they are just friends. But then that monster comes back a few months later

Hi yellow sky,

I am the same way and I really want to learn to curb these thoughts too. I’m worried that if this carries on it will have very negatively impact my relationship. I trust my partner completely but seem to become the same monster you speak of whenever they tell me they are going to meet up with work friends (always in a big group for a couple drinks or a meal so never anything suspect!). I feel so guilty for my behaviour afterward but like you, it just happens again and again. I want to change because I know it is toxic and not healthy :(

I have a similar situation.

My boyfriend keeps telling me what he had with his ex was perfect

Tonight when watching tiktok a video said that when women emotionally check out of a relationship they stop nagging and it urged guys to pay attention to when she stops nagging or asking where or who hes with. To no ones surprise he said he disagreed and basically said jealous toxic women are the ones who nag. Mind you I nag him and worry because i have a past history of disloyal partners and have opened up to tell him this.

I cannot believe what he said next. “I had a year long relationship with my ex and she never nagged because there was trust, it was perfect.” Insinuating that because i worry about what may happen and “nag” i am lesser to his ex.

am i overreacting or?

@kryptikx In my opinion, I think it depends on the person. Everyone gets hurt or has an issue with past relationships. I don't think that your over reacting at all. Everyone is different and handles relationships differently! I think your boyfriend just needs to be aware that Everyone is unique and not all relationships are the same. I would communicate how his comments made you feel and talk about why you do the actions you do.
