Suddenly ghosted
Hello everyone! I am a newbie here, and would like to share my story. See if any of you have a similar situation or any advice. I had met a guy about a year an half ago online dating. We hit it off from the first chat, eventually met and hit off great. About a month into it he started acting distant and moody. Wouldn’t reach out as much as me, seemed a little more guarded. This continued for over the past year. We would talk, things are good, then he’d disappear. During the pandemic things were very hard on him. He was financially and mentally in a rough place and it took a toll on us. It’s been a very off and on type relationship. But the connection and chemistry between us is very strong. I’ve always been kind and a good friend to him. I was also trying my best to build his spirits up when he was or is down. It’s been two months since I’ve heard from him. I reached out to him twice both times hoping he’s ok and I’m here if he needs anything. Never got a response. I’ve seen his profile on the dating app is still active, but he hasn’t posted much on social media. I don’t know if it’s me he hates or something I did, but it really hurt me when he ghosted me. I don’t even think he cares what he did to be honest. But for some reason I can’t shake it off and wonder if it’s me or if I wasn’t good enough. I’m not reaching out to him anymore, his silence was a clear enough message. Thank you! ❤️
It’s really hard because you were vulnerable and gave them the freedom to do so as well. Not hearing up breaks you down and each time it gets even harder. I’m going through something like this too. I just wanted to tell you the fact that you were always trying not I be there for him irrespective of how he would get in times of crisis, this shows how kind you are. Sometimes, we put others from first and they have full control your emotional well-being. My one thing would be, start journaling and write down 3 things that are grateful for even if it is .. I’m proud of myself for not checking his social media today. Baby steps and this shit is hard so please know you found at least one person rooting for you💕
Aww that’s so sweet of you. I am rooting for you too! I think the best step moving forward is probably the not stalking as much or caring! I am proud of you too! Things always have to get hard before they get better. Someone once told me you won’t know the beginning of something until it ends. And I think that speaks to all volumes in life. We are constantly changing and evolving. Things coming and going, beginning or ending. Nothing stays the same. And I am so sure we will not be sitting and trying to mend our hearts forever. Things will get better for you. Baby steps my friend, baby steps ❤️
Awww, thank you. I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear that. I feel like for me as a women, it takes a long time to love but when I do, they have control and more often than not, they know it and use it for their own selfish reasons. I have come to thank him finally after being down for months. The reason is thank you for letting me love and be vulnerable and it’s so miserable at times, but u know I loved and that’s an amazing yet fleeting feeling. So adding on to your statement about not know the beginning till it ends, I believe in this case thing that my best friend and I randomly one late evening came to- your life is a book, there are people in your life who are small characters and they usually leave after one chapter or maybe less, the are people who are supporting characters who weave in your story, often coming in and help you in little and unexpected ways and then finally, there are people who are main characters who are the ones that shape you and affect you in deep and profound ways. Not everyone will be there in the end my darling. Yo, I stalked and checked and prayed and wished he would talk to me, but then I realized this was his ending in my life story
Yes everything and everyone in your life has some small meaning. That’s what we have to remember when we move on. We will never forget an ex, but the pain they have caused (depending on how bad it was) will slowly start to fade away. I think women have a hard time opening themselves to love, but I do think men have a harder time during hard life situations. Women have their girlfriends to talk to, men don’t have much. Men also have their pride and ego and push all their feelings down which hurts them in the long run. It’s why I was always trying to be my ex best friend, because I don’t think he had that much people to open up or talk to. I think him being on dating sites is just a distraction and he’s looking for female comfort. I don’t really know, but eventually I will get over it. I wish him the best, but I would have loved an apology from him to have just ghosted and dumped me like that.
I’m letting things I guess not letting me see why I love or like just something.
