The idea of a relationship is embarassing...

I (23f) think i want to be in a relationship... But at the same time, the idea of it is so so embarassing to me. I think i feel shame in the idea that ppl will kno that i like someone? Or i am afraid to feel judged based on who i pick as a partner? I dont know where this is coming from or what to do with it. Perhaps i have romanticized dating to the point that its all disappointing. I dont know. I kno I dont want to date a stranger... I'd rather it be someone i already kno and have developed feelings for. I dont like feeling forced. I dont even kmow my sexual orientation tbh. This is all overwhelming and i dont know how to feel. Does anyone experience something similar?

Sounds like you prefer the "friends first" approach to dating. Getting comfortable with someone takes time, and when it's right things usually progress naturally. Nobody can know exactly why you're feeling the way you are, but keeping yourself open to opportunities may be a good beginning, especially if you are not certain about your sexuality at this point. It makes sense that you would take things one day at a time, and remain safe in the friend zone until feelings begin to develop. I wish you all the best as you continue this journey.
