he started to have new friends and it makes me feel lonely
during the pandemic, he and i had our own world of hanging out and chatting all day bc it was LDR. but after awhile, he started to hang out with other people online. though im comfortable alone, the fact that it feels like he's moved on to his friends while im alone feels sad. it suddenly makes me feel lonely somehow, when it used to be only him and i. i just feel jealous now that he has his friends and i don't. i find it difficult to be happy for him in this state :(( what should i do?
@purplemew thank you for sharing, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling this way, I understand how you are feeling because I have had my own experience similar to this. It is not easy, especially when you are used to be around this person, and the pandemic played a big role as it allowed people to stay home with each other and being in each other's company for period of months. It is valid and normal to feel jealous, as you were accustomed to spending time with him all of the time. Have you tried talking to your boyfriend about how you are feeling?
hello juju! thank you :(( i have, multiple times before, saying i'd get over it. but it seems as though i can't
I know how that feels. My PM’s are open if you want to talk about it. <3
I can imagine that being hard. Do you have people you want to hang out with? If not, will you be open to making friends so you have people to hang out with when he’s with his friends?
@Blueberry4032 hello blueberry, thank you. i only have a few people to hang out with, and they're often busy. making new friends during the pandemic feels a bit difficult. since i don't have face-to-face classes yet, the new people i get to chat with online would be my classmates. though there isn't much depth since we only have our academics and deadlines to talk about :((
@purplemew that’s so unfortunate. Hopefully you’ll get to have in person classes soon so you’ll be able to make friends easier. My closest friends were from college. If you’re able to try to chat with the ones you feel connected to about other topics and see how it goes. Also try doing activities that you love to distract you. Do you have any hobbies? It’s a new thing happening in your relationship so it will take some time getting used to. You will.
I feel you, you’re not alone. I also prefer my own company most of the time. If you ever need somebody to talk/rant to, I’m here! <3
@purplemew I understand exactly what you are going through. Me and my husband moved 30 minutes away from my best friend and in all honesty it just seems like these days he has all these new friends and he doesn't need me anymore. We even just had this huge fight this past week and now my heart hurts a lot...
