memories of being cheated on
so i’ve been with my boyfriend for 2 years now but bad memories keep popping up and idk how to make it go away. my boyfriend was talking to his ex when i told him u like him. he dropped her to date me but she was suicidal. he cheated on me for 2 months with her because she kept threatening to kill herself so he was scared to completely cut ties with her. it’s been 2 years but im still getting flashbacks to it and he told me his memories with her because i thought i’d be okay with it. he only talks about it in front of his guy friends because one of his friend is like a brother to her, but they don’t bring her up anymore. i feel broken and my heart aches when i think about what he did with her. idk what to do. any advice would help. i just want to forget about it.

If that is his excuse of cheating on you with her, I say leave him. He cheated while still being with you and think you're okay with him bringing it up? He isn't cut out for you. I don't think you can recover from it while being with him. If he is so worried about her, why don't he go and be with her and save you the tears and time?

what do you mean by "cheated"? Like he was still meeting her or what? Apart from that, it seems like he was being blackmailed and manipulated. Did you ever try to look at it from his point of view? To me, it's seems like he is very capable of really caring for others. Don't let your thought drive you into overdrive.
When i confronted him about it, that night he joined her in the shower. He had sex with her if not more than twice. He told her he broke up with me and that he loved her. But he would tell me the same. I know he was manipulated, but he could’ve broken up with me instead of stay being a cheater for 2 months especially when we barely started dating. He also cheated on me again but with a different girl while I was on the opposite side of the house but the only thing they did was kiss bc I caught them in the restroom.
