Appreciation for My Friends - The Story of Today

Hi everyone! I am writing this message based on my own personal experiences, so please if you are going through a tough time right now, and are finding your school life difficult, don't take this as though I am boasting or putting anyone down. That is 100% not what I am doing here; I am looking at the possibilities for every individual here on 7 Cups, and seeing how we can remain positive and if maybe not feeling too good about school/college yet, build up that positivity. This post, is more about gratitude and appreciating everything we have.

I wanted to talk a little bit about everything that's happened today at school. My day started off well, we had a Maths Assesment first period, which I feel I did fairly well in, even if I didn't finish, I did well on the questions I managed to complete in the booklet. Second period, we moved onto English as we do each and every Thursday. A few months ago (probably around July time), I did something silly on my friends computer where whenever he logs in, an 'innapropriatte' phrase, which if I say the man on the news who grabs the mic and shouts this phrase, you will probably know what I am talking about. Well, my friend had his computer volume on full and you can probably guess what happened. I was sent down to my tutor's English class and had to work at the back for the whole of second period, before having break and then being pulled out of French third period to discuss the incident and that I would be spending the day in isolation tommorow (Thursday 4th February). I'm not going to lie to you, I am the naughty kid at school. By which I mean shouting out in class, throwing things, ect. I'm sure you all know that I am not a dangerous person or a nasty person, I just try to be funny in school, understandable I'm sure. But this is the second time this year (2016) I've been in isolation, 2 weeks tommorow, I was also in isolation for posting pictures of teachers on social media which I obviously regret now.

Now, to my main point, the reason why I posted this thread. When I was walking back to the rest of French, I started to get emotional. Thursday's are my best day in school, in Year 7 I had been selected to be on the student panel and interview the new head teacher candidates which was an amazing experienced and an honour to be picked for. Maybe the senior leadership team are beginning to turn against me? I wasn't sure what to do.

I walked back into French, and I told everyone I was going to be in isolation on Thursday. The majority of them went 'Awwww' and rushed over to give me a hug. My teacher asked me if I was okay and gave me a box of tissues and told me to talk about it with him. All of a sudden, I had never felt so much grattitude in my life. What an amazing group of friends I have, and what an amazing French teacher I have. I love my school. I feel safe and happy at my school. And I cannot tell you how thankful I am to be a part of it.

Now, I have met so many people here on 7 Cups who feel their school life is ruining their lives. They feel they don't have many friends, and that their teachers pick on them, the list goes on. Sometimes, I feel upset. But when I do, I need to start thinking to myself, how lucky I am to have everything I have.

I love our community, and every single member has something special too offer. They may not realise it, but belive me, they certainly do <3

I love you all so much <3 Never let anyone put you down or change you, and be grateful always for what you have.
