Are these real friends?
Real Friends?
I have a childhood “best friend” I’ve known since kindergarten. For awhile I’ve always felt I put in all the effort. I’m always reaching out etc. I decided to stop and 6 months later New Years comes around, and she wishes me a happy New Years and then proceeds to ask if I’m mad at her. Which she never reached out to see how I was doing so for her to ask that was strange I just simply stopped reaching out. I then sent her a post on Instagram and then she reached out and invited me to her bachelorette party which I had mixed feelings because of how our friendship as been. She also started sending me snaps all of sudden again... I drove 14hrs to visit, and I felt she barely took time to hangout with, and I completely understand she had a lot going on and other ppl to entertain, but I feel like she could’ve at least give me some of her time to catch up. We ended up leaving a day early so I got to back to her house and have more of a one on one time with her which was nice, but she wanted more ppl to come over. I prefer one on one time then hanging out in groups. Of course she reaches out to see how my visit with my family was and then I get the typical no response back; and not to mention I haven’t received a snap since I’ve been back. I just don’t know what kind of “friendship” this is......I have another best friend from high school and she came to visit me and I told her that her and her bf couldn’t stay in my little small apartment I was extremely trying to help pay for a room, and other options. she was coming to visit with her ex who knew someone that lives near me. It just turned into a disaster. She just made me feel bad, and I tried to mention multiple things to do, and she comes back with would you want to go to a basketball game or brewery. Of course that’s what we did when she came to visit and all my options were thrown out the window. They ended up staying at the friends house, and I ended up getting sick and she just would ask if I wanted to go the friends house if roles were reversed I would’ve asked if she needed anything and would want to come over to my house instead of making me drive a half hour there and back to the friends house. When we did hangout I was trying to talk about things, and she would cut me off and not want to talk about which I found extremely rude. we talked it out and she apologized which was nice, but then she was trying to make other plans to go to California and apparently she was going with another guy she was seeing and he bailed and then I was invited which I just feel she puts me second when she’s with guys. I was iffy about visiting because of last visit and explained I don’t think right now is a good time but maybe next we can plan something. Our friendship has been little estranged. I recently reached out to her due to bf issues I’m having and now she’s acting like everything’s fine. Because I feel she’s been a bit negative I’m wondering if because I’m having issues that makes her happy. There’s that saying misery loves company. I just feel disrespected and like I don’t matter to these ppl. Just not sure.

If your 'friends' are making you feel stressed out, or depressed, they are not real friends. You should find people who will support what you want and take time out of their day to see or chat with you. They shouldn't make you feel indebted to them in any way.
I hope you can find some true friends!
