Don't know if I should accept her back into my circle of friends
Hey everyone of 7CupsofTea
I am on here to ask for some advice for dealing with a friend...well shes sort of not my friend.
Anyways. I've had a really bad spell of depression throughout this year. It really made me change in my view and how I live my life. I'm seeking help now and I only keep a very small amount of people I trust to know about my ordeal. Anyways. I had this one friend of mine and after I went into this isolation phase which Im still dealing with and she turned her back on me. She talked so much crap about me to one of my friends when I was not around. I never felt so hurt to have a friend do that to me.
Anyways she deleted me from her facebook, skype, ect... but now (2 months later) shes sending requests back. I'm such an accepting and understanding person, but I dont know if I should accept her back.
Any suggestions. Sorry that it may sound like a stupid question. I just dont really have many people there to discuss things in life with at the moment.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
*hugs*
I'd say no, I've been there. Love your name by the way, it's cool!
You're fighting a war that will try to pull you down enough on its own. You need people who will encourage you to fight that pull, and will hold you up. Not people who turn their backs.
You deserve someone who will sit down next to you when you are unable to get up. If your other friends stayed by your side during this time, I don't see why she wasn't able to.
Love yourself and hold yourself to a high standard. Others will follow your example and treat you the way you treat yourself.
A leopard doesn't change its spots. Your friend clearly either has a problem with you or can;t be trusted, neither of which are good when you are recovering from depression. I say ditch her and don't look back. Unless she has a serious epiphany and completely changes herself for the better don't take her back as a friend anytime soon.
I'd say only if they can admit their treachery
I would say that keep in touch at a superficial level only but do not ever trust her again until she apologizes for real from her own end and makes amends without being told.
(after all, we never know when some acquaintance would be useful for some info or contact or whatever in the future)
Its not about being understanding and accepting for me, its about knowing my fundamental lines - this is the kind of person i wont share my private stuff with ever again but will meet at a birthday party sometimes only and ask for some information or favor in the future at best.

I moved your post to the Friends category so that others may comment.
