I'm in love with a very close friend. I feel if I tell her I might lose her as a friend but I don't want to hide my feelings with her . I don't hide anything with her. I'm free with her. Don't know what to do

I've been in this situation before and I eventually confessed to her. She rejected me because of the long distance but we're still close and worked out the awkwardness between us by honest communication. I'm not as sad anymore because I just want to see her happy even if it's not in a romantic way with me.
