Former aquaintance re-adding me on a social media platform
Though I had left a previous synagogue a number of years ago and cut off most of the people due to them being toxic people, one of them recently sent me a friend request and so I added her.
However, I am noticing that she has not really reached out to me since and asked me how I am doing. In the past, she has been someone who has seemed like she likes me but tends to play hot and cold. While we have gotten along, at no time did she ever make the effort to invite me to do things with her. Yet, she seemed to make time for other people in that synagogue and talked about what she did with those people afterward. She also said yes to coming to celebrate my birthday one time but had bailed on me at the last minute stating that he back hurt. However, she is neurodiverse and is a good person in a lot of ways.
What do you guys think?
@Summershy Hi love bug! Personally, I think she probably just saw your account and decided to add you. I'm not sure if it really means anything for the future regarding hanging out together, especially if she never did before when you both went to the same synagogue. It seems like someone whose actions and emotions turn hot and cold would be hard to decipher their intentions. Unless this person contacts you and tells you they're looking to be in touch, I'd disregard it, unless you want to contact them first. Hope this helped a little bit 🤷♀️

I decided to cut that one loose because while I think she's a good person in a lot of ways, I didn't really sense any type of connection when were friends on FB. Though it has been 5 years, at no time did she bother to reach out via messenger. However, I didn't really reach out either so. Maybe I have lost interest in her after the way she and several others have treated me in the past.
