Friend drifting apart and I have mixed feelings

For the last several years, a friend of mine has been drifting apart from my other friends and I since he has moved to another part of the city and has gotten involved in a church and made new friends.

1. He has been ghosting several of us

2, His new friendships are more important

3. Things have one-sided where we are the ones doing all the calling and texting but there is no reciprocation

4. Ever since he has met these new friends he has seemed to act like he's better than us

5. He bailed on another friend of mine after making plans with him

I have mixed feelings about this situation because I have been busy with my own life and along with meeting other people myself. He has also done some inappropriate things in the past. However, another part of me is sad that this relationship is over because I thought he was our friend. In the past, he struggled to make friends and got rejected. Now he has these new cool friends and I feel like he's the bit of a social climber.

@Summershy Hey Summershy! My name is Ears smiley It's nice to meet you! I've read over your post today and I'm here to talk about it with you. Lets jump into the situation.

It looks like you're going through a difficult, tough, and confusing time right now. I'm sorry that you're going through this at the moment and I hope it gets better soon heart I want you to know that you're not alone whatsoever and that I'm here to help and support you along other Listeners. Here's my summary based on what's happening, and what you put; Your friend moved to another part of your city and got involved with a church, but along the way he met some new friends. When he met these new friends he dropped all contact with, not only you, but your friend group too. He eventually stopped texting back (Or never called or texted anyone first) which really hurt you, made you really upset, and frustrated you because you had a close relationship with him and everything changed out of nowhere without a explanation. Would you say this looks correct to you?

I was fine at first and thought "Ok, just let him go." Well last weekend, I decided to try and invite him to one more thing and me completely ignored my invitation and did not call or anything. My friend also tried reaching out only to be ignored too

I called him up and left a voice message this weekend and yelled at him for being a jerk to us.

@Summershy I actually looked at your profile and It said you were on the adult side, so that's probably why you couldn't contact me.

I understand why you'd be angry at him for ignoring you, especially when he could've responded to your voicemail. Have you tried to tell him how you feel? If you did and he responded how did it go?

The voice mail that we left was more along the lines of telling him off for ghosting us and not letting us know that he was not interested. That being said, I had a chance to talk it over with some people and process it even though I was pretty upset earlier in the day but talked it over with another friend who he also dumped. We both felt that he has lost our trust for the following reasons

1. He had the nerve to condescend and criticize us and especially if there were kids around and yet when they were not around, he had a potty mouth himself

2. He would give me funny looks just about every other time I would turn around

3. He also made some sexual advances with me by asking me sick questions

4. He has recently been lying to us about some things

We decided to get rid of his contact information and just cut him from our lives

I sent him an email earlier this evening by letting him know that I felt like he traded us in for something that he thought was better but also realizing that it's healthy to drift apart. I also said I wanted him to take keep his new friends and wished him all the best. If he wants to call me and talk, the ball is in his court

@Summershy That's good that you told him how you felt. It seems like you've figured out what to do. Good job and I hope all is well and that you stay safe and healthy <3

Sadly, he didn't acknowledge my email or call me to tell me what's going on which I don't like but maybe he's sad about it and does not know what to say either.
