Hi,

I really need advices. I used to have a friend who I considered as my sister for the six past years. We met online, we used to talked everyday and saw each other a lot after I moved in a city close to hers, where she came a year after.

Thing get complicated some months ago, and today we're not friends anymore, she's absolutly indiferent toward me.

And since then it's a living hell for me now. I started making nightmars who wake me everynight, when I find a way to sleep. It's less common now, but it still happen often. I'm angry, I'm sad, I'm tired, I'm lonely. I miss her, but I'm not even sure the girl I knew was real, since she change her personallity with others. I miss someone who does not exist anymore, and who's just indiferent toward me.
I want to get over it, I want to forget everything about this, but I'm stuck in my flat wher she lived 4 days a week for a years, full of memories. And I'm also traped in this city, far from my home, my familly and my close friends, and I won't be able to leave this place before a year.
I was thinking that I would get over it with time, but some nights ago I heard her voice as I was falling into sleep, and obviously it woke me with a thrill. I wasn't able to sleep after that. I feel insane, I just want this to stop and be able to sleep and live in peace without this emotional burden who's slowly kill me.

I feel like I'm getting crazy, and I have no idea about how to deal with that, I'm deeply sad and angry all the time, I'm exhausted by this situation and I don't know what to do...

Hey there! I completely understand what you're going through and what this feels like. Although my friend and I had only known each other for two years and haven't met in person, I still completely know how this must feel. My friend "broke up" with me yesterday, and I cannot stop crying because of it, and daily tasks such as getting out of bed are so difficult. I miss him terribly, and I have no contact with him as I'm blocked from his social networks now. I would try to contact him through a different account, but that'd violate boundaries and I don't want to be pushy like that.

As far as your situation, it does sound way worse than mine! I'm proud of you for enduring through this emotional pain, you're very, very courageous and strong to have to deal with this. I want you to know that this pain is temporary, first and foremost. My pain hasn't ended yet either and it will probably take a long time until it does, but meeting other new people is honestly the key to overcoming a friendship. Unfortunately, once a friendship is broken it can't really be fixed completely. I tried this with my friend last month but, as noted, it didn't work out because if it did all of this wouldn't happen and we'd still be friends or at least on better terms.

It may seem like a horrible idea to meet new people and befriend them, but it's a great fix in reality. I don't want to do it either, but I know if I do I'll have someone else to make memories with. Personally, I hate the idea of "someone else" because all I want is my friend. However, that won't work out, unfortunately. Just as with romantic relationships, it's important not to get hung up on an ex and to move on as quickly as possible. Friend breakups are worse than romantic relationship breakups, because it's someone so close to us and so essential to us. With that being said, it's important to know that there are others that we haven't met yet and will be a true friend.

In all honesty, I hope everything works out for you and you can feel better as soon as possible. Although it may seem impossible, looking on the bright side of things with an optimistic point of view on life is so, so essential. Don't forget to take care of yourself heart

Yes, I somewhat lived the same as both of you.. But I got news, first of all, TIME, yes, it is hard to turn a page in this situation, but don t think about as it s over 100% completley, the thing about life, is.. some time people change or get tirred of living the same routine and need to move on, and this is what has happened. I have lived through this, one thing led to another and my friend just stop talking to me, avoiding my facebook, whatsapp and calls... I knew then, it was time for a "vacation", after 6 month, we spoke about what bothered eachother and we were friends again, but this time, the "bond" was not as deep as before, but.. there was a bond. I d say, just move on, it is true that if you are used to being with a particular person in the same sorrunding, it could be good to move out to another flat and avoid memorries because it becomes toxic if you dwell on it. Life is to short to let someone break you and while you are in pain he/she does not even know nor care about your feelings... So, please... Let time do the work and go out, meet people... there is always something beautiful waiting aorund the corner.. Don t rush the situation to happen fast, just let it happen naturally.
