How should I tell my friend what bothers me about him
So my best-friend been acting like an asshole recently. He only contacts when he needs me to fix his life. He invites me to hang out but leaves me as soon as he finds someone more interesting, it's like im only there so he doesn't feel lonely until he finds someone better, like a safety net. Also I always listen to his problems, but when I try to tell what's bothering me in my life he tells me to find someone else to talk about this. How should i tell him what's my problem with him? Or should I just stop talking to him altogether?

i would try to tell him how you feel & if it doesn't get through, move on. you deserve to feel like there's some base level of respect.

@Zanzer4190 I think just tell him like it is and he can understand and change, ok, but also try to understand that some people needing help are not capable themselves of giving help and reciprocating, just a difference in personality types or character. It doesn't mean that he is a bad person, it may be simply that he is not capable of what you are capable of. Anyway, communication is very important and just saying thos to him is a good start...

Let's look at dogs. They are, afterall, man's best friend. When you first get a puppy, you have to teach it to go outside when it needs to use the bathroom. You have to teach the puppy how to let you know it needs to use the bathrom. You have to teach the puppy when it will be fed, where it can go, what it is allowed to do. The puppy understands what you expect because you train it.
Humans, for all their intelligence, are harder to train. At least you don't have to teach your friend how to use the bathroom. But, just like a dog, you need to establish your expectations of your friend and be firm when your friend is not being a good boy. Likewise, when he does things for you that you appreciate, show him you appreciate him. Friendships are not about being a doormat where you let the other person walk all over you. It's about taking the time and effort to teach one another and learn from each other. And if he continues to misbehave, you put the friendship down. Though, I have yet to meet any human who is a more loving, more aprpreciative, more loyal friend than a dog. Good luck!
