I find that the reason why I can't keep friends is because they all are way too closed minded to me, is it okay to have such different friends and if so how do i keep it from irritating me ?

I think it's okay to be friends with people who are different from you until it begins to impact your relationship. If at any point what's being said or done is hurting the other it should be addressed and if it continues, maybe parting ways is what's best.

There's a lot to it. It is really complicated. Everything that is happening, happens for a reason. There will be a point of time where things get better. Maybe try going to the friends that you lost and ask them why they did?

I'm pretty sure that my problem stems from my trust issues [I'm semi-paranoid], family issues [and the stuff I've learned from it; such as how f***ed things can get, and how my family has a 'I stand alone' sort of mentality, among other things], and just me being intorverted and my tendency to keep to myself. I have a handful of friends, because my stipulations for friendship includes my trust- which is earned at a glacial pace.

I used to have this really tight group of friends, but a relationship of mine ended almost a year ago, and all of them sided with her. I expected that at first, but now I can't do anything with them, because my ex doesn't want me around and will never not be included in their activities.
