I need advice quickly

So a few weeks ago I found out that my best friend is moving. This weekend she had an early birthday party/goodbye party since she is leaving today. She is moving to South Carolina from Texas. So I have been crying all weekend because let's be honest we all know it isn't going to be the same. Soi have a guy friends who I have recently been getting closer with, but just as friends. And he's been helping me through all of this and had been a hero in my point of view. Anyways I'm in high school and this was bound to happen but he just asked me out today. Problem is, I know looks don't matter but he's not that cute... At all. And he's so sweet and funny but I just can't see us together. I told him I would think on it, and I know looks shouldn't matter but I am always concerned of what people think of me, and they might judge is and him. Another problem is is that I'm not allowed to date and I'm afraid that someone might see us together and text me about it (because my mom checks my phone) or I'm afraid someone might bring it up in front of my mom. There's just a lot to think about and I'm just confused.
