In love but impossible to be in relationship

My friend and I both love each other. We went on a few dates and he told me he is not yet ready for a new relationship because his long term girlfriend broke up with him in December (the break up was really bad because she did it with WhatsApp and had a boyfriend the Nest das already). I am really understanding towards this issue but it is still hurting me a lot. I can forget the pain when I am with him but when I am home I could break down any second.

It's not impossible. I he really meant that he's not ready yet, then he just needs time. You can still be a supportive friend in the meantime, channel your love into that, and it will help a lot if you do get Into a relationship later on.
