People always talk over me

It doesnt matter who it is, friends, family, acquaintances, coworkers. Everyone talks over me ALL. THE. TIME. It makes me feel so small and unimportant in all of my relationships with everyone. I am not soft spoken, and I feel like I must be incredibly uninteresting for literally everyone in my life to feel the need to speak in the middle of my sentences as if I wasnt talking. I dont get to finish stories or thoughts I have more often than I do get to finish them. Its so frustrating and I think a lot of my self esteem issues come from this. I dont know how to fix it. Im so frustrated and feel like I dont matter to anyone.

Do I stand up for myself? Call people out when they talk over me? How do I do that without being rude? What else can I even do? Ive even tried talking to close friends about it but it still happens all the time even with them. I have people who I am very close to and who seek my company and want to spend time with me, but I dont understand why when Im never able to fully express any of my thoughts unless I am directly asked something by someone and am given the floor.

@SalamiAndCheese That's frustrating. I've been there, so you're not alone.

It may depend partially on how much you're willing to give up. Sometimes you just have to continue talking or say something very bluntly: "I wasn't finished." This may cost you some of these relationships and you'll have to decide how much you're willing to give up.

@SalamiAndCheese yes, politefully stand up for yourself or stealthilly sneak in😉 or other techniques that i don't know of, but if nothing works it is surely not worth it so leave the crowd. You may try to get the attention of one person, then the others join in. Just experiment and see what works
