Struggling to make friends

Hi, thanks for reading this

I am a Year 12 student (16years old)

I know I have to focus on my studies as I would be graduating next year, but I really can't just ignore the fact that I have no friends or feel nothing about it. I have been in the same class with my classmates for 2years but I still can not get along well with them. I was really unconfident in my social skills so I didn't try making any friends in my 1yr,but now I regret it. Would it be strange if I have kept silence for a whole year but start socializing now?

Most importantly,I would like to know how I can come up with a topic to chat with my classmate. It's super difficult for me. Things will get worse if I say or ask something wrong.I really don't understand how extroverts can casually bring up a topic to talk with strangers. Any tips for socializing please?

I am sincerely grateful if you are still here, thanks for hearing me out.

**I apologize if u find my english hard to understand,it isn't my native language

I think this is quite common think back over the last year of the conversations that have happend around class this may spike a topic.

I dont think anyone would think this unusual for you to be actively seeking conversation.

Starting up a conversation could be as simple as did you just get what Julie the teacher has just explained?

As you are taking an intresst in what they know aswel as sparking up conversation.

Everyone has hobbies intressts even particular habits.

Be yourself and as you make this subtle little additions in to to conversation so your confidence will grow.

@sharkiesz, it is never too late to start socializing! I too have had a hard to socializing with others so I understand where you are coming from. I found the best way for me to start socializing was talking about the things my peers enjoyed. I didn't know much about soccer but my peers did. I started learning the rules of the game and then joined them in conversation. From there they began to include me in discussion and scrimmages
