Time for some self respect

Hi there...Do you guys experienced this when your used to be best friend was just using you either for their emotional feed or for their advantage? And you thought the love and attention they gave you were real and you finally realised that person is a narcissist. It hurts so bad when that person avoids you all the time, kept rejecting you when you ask for outings, rather hang out with others and gave excuses that there wasn't a free time to hang. Thanks to lockdown for Covid19, we all have all the time in the world to talk, message or video call but none of that happened. After gone for silent for a month a message popped out asking how am i? Anyway its time for some self respect and walk away for this emotional torture. There are so many other better friends out there. Dont you all agree with me?

Yes. You should spend time with people who you can count on, support you, and you find the relationship mutual -- not one-sided. Stephen Covey, in his book "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", he talks about how the people that you keep around you, your "circle of influence" has a large part of determining your overall happiness and success in life.

You should be careful with who you keep around you, at all times. Only select people in your circle of influence that helps you grow, develop, and aspire to become a better person.

Yes. You are right. Thank you for your advice. We should surround ourselves with people who bring us up and not create more emotional problems to us. I was very kind to her due to her depression and anxiety issues but guess when people started to push us away constantly and would not talk to you about them even when we asked, we should just walk away for our own good. I have tried very hard . Guess its time to stop now. Otherwise I will develop some unhealthy issues on my own.

Yes, I totally agree and understand, but it is the hardest thing to do, to just walk away from someone who has hurt you deeply, but sticking around to fight or defend yourself with make it even worse for you. I've been through many narrisistc relationships ( even close family members) it hurts like hell to walk away, but it is the best thing for you, inner peace is on the other side

I wish you strength and courage, and admire your will to change!! You are not alone in your experience , there are many other people out there that have suffered like you have

Keep following your heart, not your mind!!!!

Thank you for your words. I do not know exactly is she a real narcissist or not but i know clearly she is always using me as her comfort for her emotions. Then she would be happy and talk to others which is very weird. This has happened many times. I couldnt figure it out what is it but this is draining me very much in anger and resentment, feeling so unappreciated . And i will keep this in mind, follow my heart and not my mind.

If you really feel that it would be in your own best interest to walk away, than yes, set boundaries , you can say no to someone without fighting, just tell the truth, if that person wants to fight you on it or tries to make you feel guilty or shameful about being honest about your own wants and needs , then it's time to walk away with out clinging on to the attachment or carrying the burdens of resentment and anger, it may make you feel lonely for a while, but you have to take care of yourself, you are who you will see in the mirror for the rest of your life.

Wishing you luck and support, sometimes the best way is to face the truth, no matter how hard it is or how much it hurts, it still is the best way, way better than continuing to live in a lie😏 Hang in there, you can do it !!

Yeah..no more being in denial. Even the care she has shown me..I feel it's not genuine. If I tell straight to her, it would hurt her. But let's see how it goes. Otherwise it doesn't matter at all. Just disappear and live my own life happily 😊
