issue was written here previously please read the situation I'm sorry I am unable to explain it again but; I rejected their request and now they're saying there's no choice but for them to do so in order for them to escape their mind. I had been in call with them while I rejected and we both cried extremely hard so I'm unsure if they're trying to manipulate me ? I don't think they are ... I'm overseas and can't help call emergency or hotlines from their country ;

Previous thread

should i say I will do it? They said they could just see me once I'm back and that might fix their issue but if not we would have to do it..;; please help !

I would reach for help any ways, and I would let the medical professionals know their threats of killing themselves after treatment so that the doctors can address and keep an eye out for that as well. Treatment can change a lot regarding someone's plans and emotional state, and ideally inpatientfacilitieswill not allow them to be released until they are no longer a risk to themselves, and their doctorsshould set them up with medications and ongoing therapy and psychiatric support.

There is no guarantee they wont attempt suicide any ways even if you don't call for help. I think it is safest for them if you encourage them to call, and/or call someone who is in the area and can call 911 for them - like family in the same nation/state that they are in (since you are overseas). If it is manipulative, they should know that you take them extremely seriously. If it is real, they should know you value their life so highly you will not allow them to not have support by real professionals. It is not fair to you for them to place this heavy a burden on you, nor is it fair for them (even if they can't see it now) for them to deny themselves real support from professionals, and the safety and ongoing resources that inpatient or 911 services can provide them.

I think that'll be a good way to deal with this thank you, I'm not sure how I could contact such medical professionals from here? Would international Suicide hotlines be able to help me?

I do not have contact with any of their parents, and they simply laugh whenever I do mention or encourage them to seek for help.

Should I dial for the emergency number in my original country and describe the situation and help needed or instead a hotline? Thank you that was extremely informative :')

I honestly don't know. I do think that you could call a suicide hotline in your area and request more information about how to help them in another area, becausethe hotline peoplemight know. Knowing the location of your friend, and being able to describe their threats and your concerns would probably be important for getting them help.

I know sometimes it is hard for a second-party person to get support for a suicidal person. But, don't give up after one bad call (sometimes they say they can't talk to you because of patient-confidentiality. A key thing to know is that you cangive information, but you cannot alwaysreceive information regarding your friend). The first time I tried to call for support for my girlfriend when she was suicidal it took a few different calls before someone felt they could say enough to guide my friend and I in getting my girlfriend help(my girlfriend was mentally incapable of calling for herself at that time).

There might also be a way for you to make a long distance call, but I am not sure about that. You could try it though. Knowing where your friend currently is though would be very important.

Hi erynn, thanks again! i have contacted their family member and asked them to keep a close watch on my friend, I just recently found out I cannot call from overseas and do not have the credit to :T

Thanks for the words (: I have described to the member the situation and if things were getting worse that they were to send for professional help and emphasised to them on the fact once my friend is put under the care they couldn't discharge them until the professionals are absolutely sure even if they say they're okay.

I hope I made a right choice;; thanks (:

My friend has threatened that if I had or did notify anyone of their situation to help or stop them that I would never hear or see from them again. Did I make a wrong choice to lie and say no I didn't? They made me promise on their life as well I feel like this will just make it worse for them that I lied ;

I am so so sorry to hear this is continuing at such an intense and highly emotional pace. I know how hard it is when a friend wants to kill themselves, and I can only imagine how much harder the distance and their demands that you tell no one and don't get them help places on you. I'm glad you have reached out to us on here. Have you reached out to anyone in your life - friends, family - to get support yourself? Have you considered seeing a counselor to help with all the emotions this sort of situations brings with it? I hope your friend can get support, but I also want you to be supported as you go through this terribly difficult time.

Thanks again erynn:') though I'd like to no member of my family is close to me and my friends may be busy or may not fully understand the situation and end up spreading the situation to others.

I think a counselor would be a great idea but I cannot access one until my return (: I will try out what you've suggested (:
