What do you think about Emotional Affairs
I'm curious to know how familiar a concept this is to people....
Do you know what an emotional affair is? What do you think about them?

Emotional affairs is when ,like, you start having feelings for someone despite you are in a committed relationship with somebody else.You know,there are one night stands or affairs with just sex involved,you are not sharing much of your life with this person except for the sex part.You meet,have sex,then go your own ways,then again the sex part etc,you can be in a committed relationship and just have sex with someone else.And there are those emotional affairs where you share with someone your thoughts,have feelings for them but have not yet come to the sex part for whatever reason!This is what comes to mind for me!
@intellectualCake2979 yes exactly - it is a very close relationship without the sex.
@Auckland I have heard of them. I'm not extremely familiar with them but do know of people who have had them.
Not really familiar concept to me but I'm more than willing to learn about it
@OmondiBrian18 -- It is when a married person has a very close relationship with someone else but without the sex. Some people think that it is worse than a just sex affair because of the emotional ties to the other person. The damage is that it pulls the married person away from their spouse (damages intimacy). They start to share their most intimate feelings/thoughts with someone else - getting closer to the outsider rather than their spouse.
I don't think that I would have really believed in it had it not been for the fact that my ex had one with my sister. That was the last straw for my marriage and it permanently damaged my relationship with my sister. Had we lived in the same state I think it could have gone beyond emotional.
Danger zone. Not good.
Emotional relationship leads to straying even if only in your mind...
@easyWater4109 doesn't one have to maintain an emotional relationship with their back-up?
