When to let go of a relationship
I've been friends with this girl (who I've had a crush on) for a year and a half. It went extremelywell in the beginning, but then took a turn and now I'm in the situation where she's been making excuses as to why she can't hang out, and at one moment flaking when we were supposed to hang out/meet up. I want to fix my friendship with her. But I wanted to know when I should let go of this friendship. What are some signs that I should let go?
Oh love, I work on the 'hell yes or no' basis. They're either excited about getting to know you or they're not. In other words, if she's not saying he'll yes, she's saying no. Do you really want to chase forever? Do you want to convince someone to see how amazing you are? I'd back off, if she's really interested she'll come back after you
that depends a lot. I do that all the time with all my friends, to be honest. But its not because I dont like them anymore, its because I dont like changing my routine, I prefer to do things at home. Sometimes I say "yes" so they wont be sad, and then change plans later... Maybe she has some problem, who knows
@ProteinSynthesis- The most important sign to look out for is whether you are hurting yourself in this whole process. As long as it doesn't disturbs ur peace of mind and u can continue this without being offended then its ok. But rather if you are hurting yourself, then buddy its time to let go. Believe me I have gone through this whole dilemma in my relationship of 5 yrs. Ultimately I reached a point where I could feel my heart crying out in pain to stop torturing him. The nature of people, their beleif n views do change with time. Just love yourself first, do your part of convincing someone within acceptable limits. And when it becomes evident that the other person is not responding as per your expectation even though you have made it clear several times, then do yourself the favour of letting her go. This is the time when you need to put yourself first before anyone else. Trust me it is the only way out before you become insane. And be open minded. No one is to be blamed here. Its just how this journey was supposed to be. Hope you find this helpful.
Stay blessed..😊

Probably the most important sign that anyone should leave any kind of relationship is if the pain or other negative emotions you feel associated with the relationship outweighs the positive emotions. If most of the time you spend in the relationship is spent thinking or worrying about what they think about you, what went wrong, why aren't they hanging out anymore, do they like you, etc etc, it may be time to let go. You don't have to cut off contact and never see them again or anything, but if I had the same situation, I would just loosen my grip on trying too much/hard. I would be very casual with them while moving on and finding other friends and other things to do. If they come around and want to hang out with you, they'll make the effort. If they don't want to make the effort to spend time with you, in the long time they're not really worth it. I hope it all works out well for you!
