Angry when my boyfriend goes on a trip without me
Hi, I have a problem and dont know why I feel this way. My boyfriend of almost 1 year recently told me, that he will go on a 4 day trip with his 2 coworkers. I was immidiately angry and dont even know why. I want to come with them but it is only them 3 so no girlfriens, the two of them even dont have a girlfriend. I hate it that he goes somewhere without me, i think i am jealous he can have fun without me. How can i stop this? I dont want to feel this way.

It's normal to feel jealous or left out when your partner goes on a trip without you. However, it's important to recognize that your partner is entitled to his own space and time with friends. Try to understand why you're feeling this way and address any underlying trust issues in the relationship. Have an open and honest conversation with your partner about your concerns and express your desire to spend more quality time together. Engage in self-care and activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Remember to trust your partner and maintain healthy boundaries in the relationship. Communication, understanding, and mutual respect are key to building a strong relationship.
He needs time with his own friends, family, colleagues. Time to work, time to enjoy himself, time also for his relationship, and time apart from his relationship. It’s all part of a healthy balance. If he doesn’t neglect you, or always prioritize his colleagues and friends over you - Shouldn’t you look more objectively at your relationship as a whole and decide if you are actually happy with how he treats you as a partner? If he is constantly taking trips without you and seems to make a habit of choosing his friends at the expense of quality time with you, then yes maybe that is a problem, as it indicates you are not a priority in his life and that he is happier in the company of other people.
It’s usually more problematic if you rely on him for his company, which is why you resent it when he spends time away (instead of appreciating and celebrating the fact that he is enjoying himself with his friends). It could be a sign of dependency in a relationship when we only want our partners happiness to be exclusively attached to ourselves and feel negative feelings whenever they don’t include us in any aspect of their lives.
In any case, since you feel that way, you should communicate your frustrations with him and work on solutions together. It’s not necessarily that he’s the problem, but he might be able to provide you with some perspective about how the situation looks from his point of view.

@Alphi it's important to trust your partner and have faith in your relationship. It's healthy to have separate interests and hobbies and spend time apart from each other. As long as you both maintain open communication and respect each other's boundaries, you can find a way to balance your individual needs with your relationship.
