A poem about how toxic relationships can change you mentally
(This is my first poem, so...)
I met a girl, I still don’t remember her name
She always told me things, and that I was to blame
I told her that I’d change, but then she left me alone
I guess I should’ve seen the signs but now I am a stone
A hard stone, that does rarely nothing.
I met a new girl, and I know someday she’ll leave me too
My laziness, my talk, even the dumb old moon
Nothing I’ve said has ever made sense
My words jumbled together like a game of chess
Only one move will save me, or else I’ll tumble
I never meant to be so humbled.
I told her that she should change, and that she is to blame.
I wish I knew she’d leave right after the rain.
I think I know now, my previous lover..
That being with you made me leave another.
And now today is my final rest,
As I’ve never been above the rest.
Goodbye my lovers, and goodbye to the previous.
For all you did is to blame for this casket.
