Being around former toxic friend triggers anger
Hi:
earlier today, I happened to cross paths with a former toxic friend. Every time we have interacted, he manages to put me down. He has also always seem to think he’s superior to me.
We both have autism and he has always been really full of himself. He told one time that he’s “Higher functioning than I am.” I have really never forgotten that he said that.
He also had the nerve to call me “Weird” as well and it was right in front of my colleagues. I have been pretty hurt and angry ever since.
Earlier this spring he we crossed paths at an anime and super hero convention and I happened to wear one of my favorite anime shirts. He approached me when I am in line to get food. He said,”Hey you’re dressed like Summershy.(only he used my real name).” When we interacted, he seemed to carry and heir about himself. When I left. I felt icky and set boundaries with him via email.
I crossed paths with him today, it ended up triggering a lot of anger. I first of all mocked what to he said to me earlier this year. He turned and smiled at me like he a smart alec and I flipped him off. I also told him “You may think you are all that but you are not.” I just do not like him.
@Summershy hi there, i understand how interacting with a toxic person can emotionally activate you. i am glad you were able to handle the situation
I didn’t see him for very long and we didn’t interact yesterday. However, being in the same room was very triggering. He’s a jerk.
When it came to putting the boundaries in the email, he didn’t acknowledge what I said. He also didn’t respond m.
