How do you get over someone that you’re with for two years who mentally and physically abused me and we broke up all the time, but this time is for good. Why is it after everything she’s done to me lie probably even cheated on me and she always wondered why I didn’t trust her. She kept on getting caught in lies why do I still think about her and miss her. How do I let go?

I'm sorry for pain and confusion you're going through.

No one should experience any abuse whether mental or physical in a relationship.

I suspect you're holding on because there were moments that were good. Moments you felt connected , loved even and if you've never felt it before that's life changing but it doesn't excuse the bad behavior from her because that's not love.

You need to cut all contact with her . Delete any way you may see her like social media.

Allow yourself to experience the emotions. The feelings of loss , the grief .

Things will get better with time. It's not a linear process in healing. Some therapy can help if that's an option. It may never go away and leave a scar mentally but thats ok.

Be kind to yourself you are worthy of love .

I am going through the same thing right now, its been 10 years. It's awful. All that is helping me is to remember him for who he really is and that all the niceness was manipulation. Not going to lie, that makes me more depressed, but it is the truth i have to stick to for my own worth. I am also Journaling and trying to keep busy amd keep sober. I hate everything right now, but I am hoping and trusting it will get better, but right now I want to puke.

Also I hope I can help by telling you the reason you are holding on to her may be because youre chasing approval and validation. You somehow may be needing her to be loyal to you and love you to prove your own worth. But you are just proving how weak you are and how much your willing to sacrifice your self worth to save someone. Ugh, I hate being so broken... but at least you are making better choices.
