Change in dynamics

My daughter is 2 months and i am currently living with my parents. My in-laws house is not very far like 20 distance and yet my husband comes after one day . He spends like 20 min with her and then goes straight to his phone . Neither he spends time with me nor with my daughter and not even wakes. Up in the night to help me out .

I am emotionally exhausted and this behaviour is making us distant even more.

Dear Beloved,

Congratulations on your baby. I can feel your emotional pain about your husband's behaviour.

We need to understand the reasons behind his change in behaviour. Think about the potential reasons that are making him behave like this.

Has he been like this before as well, or is it related to some particular situation? Is this change sudden, or has it emerged over a period of time?

My in-laws house is not very far like 20 distance and yet my husband comes after one day.

If distance is not the issue, then why has he started to miss a day? Has he been coming like this from the beginning, or has he started doing it now?

Do you think something happened between him and your parents that has hurt him?

Is his change in behaviour sudden, or has it been gradual?

He spends like 20 min with her and then goes straight to his phone. Neither he spends time with me nor with my daughter and not even wakes. Up in the night to help me out.

Did he use to spend more time in the past? Did he use to talk to you more before? Did he help you with the baby before?

Gently think about all these questions in your mind. A gentle communication with him about what you have been feeling can help. You can ask him if something has hurt him or has been disturbing him. You can share with him that his behaviour is impacting you. If there is something that we need to change, we can work to fix it together.

I am emotionally exhausted and this behaviour is making us distant even more.

I can feel your emotional pain, especially when you feel unsupported by your partner after a beloved baby enters your life. Please communicate your concerns with him. We have to protect the relationship for yourself and your baby, and for your entire family.

If he is not initiating a conversation about what has been disturbing him and has brought a change in his behaviour, you may initiate a gentle conversation about what you expect from him as your partner. We can always share our expectations, but we cannot compel someone to behave in the way we desire. There could be a possibility that he might also be expecting something from you or may have been hurt by certain decisions you have made. Perhaps, it is his way of conveying that he wants you to come back home. It could be anything.

I want you to work towards healing your emotional pain by sharing your emotions with your partner instead of struggling alone by keeping them to yourself. Share your feelings with him. Your life revolves around him, and you would like your husband to spend more time with you and help you with your baby. Please share your expectations openly with him. You can also encourage him to share what he wants from you. I am sending love and healing for your relationship and beloved family. 💕
