Cheating

I cheated. I sent a pic ( I don’t believe it was in a sexual way but more so validation) of me in bikini bottoms and a tshirt, I was not completely undressed. Anyways my husband of 2 years found out, and was wrecked. But I can’t help but to feel as though it was a breach of trust and not okay AT ALL. But… I feel like he is really making me feel like I went out and did something physical, and he is saying horrible things but also wants to work o things. The back and forth is exhausting. Not to mention that he said some horrible things and just really have been mean. He told his brother, didn’t tell me that he did, went over to a family event and they treated me with such disrespect, while holding MY baby. I feel like there was so much that was said, I’m afraid that things won’t be the same. Any Advice?

@bravePear8839 there's no universal rule to what "counts as" cheating, it's all about the rules that each couple negotiates. If what you did hurt him, you can talk about it, discuss the reasons why you did it, and find ways to make things work better in the future. But his reaction is absolutely too disproportioned, you were not even undressed in that picture, you surely did something that hurt him but there was no reason to humiliate you in front of his family. My guess is that there's something more going on, and you definitely need to talk about it. Why did he react this way? What caused each of you to do what you did? What works well in your relationship and what doesn't? Is it worth even staying in a relationship where you can't even talk like adults instead of immediately raging? These are all questions worth asking and answering before the unsaid things destroy your relationship.
