Conflict

I'm struggling with my avoidant partner for 2 years now. She has a son and I'm okay with the kid being there to the point that I want to treat him like my own but she won't let me. We have been together for 2 years for 6 months, there were ups and downs. She always does the silent treatment and stonewalling when I try to open up things. I can't cry because she'll get mad and I can't open up too. When she got a new job, she decided to move back to her hometown to take care of her son. I struggle with LDR because of the communication issues. I disagreed with it but she got mad, and at the end I had to agree to it. Recently we had a fight because I expressed my needs and I wanted to set a boundary. She got incredibly mad, defensive, and in the end I had to be the one to apologize but at the same expressed that rather than being a safe place, this is happening. She's doing the silent treatment on me again. I have friends and family, but I didn't want to becomea burden. I'm depressed and drained, anxious with all the overthinking, and honestly that's why I'm here. The years of being in this type of relationship where I carried all the weight. I'm struggling.

@Janseena1

A relationship is about compromise.

Shared trust.

Respecting boundaries.

Communication not the silent treatment.

Its not meant to be one-sided.

You can cry.

You can show emotions.

Both of you should be uplifting the other, not one setting all the rules.

Your feelings are equally as valid as hers.

Sending you my genuine best wishes 💕💜

Thank you. I've been trying to process my emotions. I don't want it to be toxic and I'm doing my best for it not to be.
