Dad not understanding difference between bacon slices and bacon bits.

Background:

So the week prior to Valentine's Day, I went to get some Valentine gifts for my family. Something else I got when I was at the grocery store was a package of bacon slices. I basically tried to hide the bacon slices from Dad for other reasons due to an incident from 2016. I can't really explain it, but there's a difference between bacon bits and bacon slices. I need 20 times as much bacon bits to get the same feeling as bacon slices. I also can't just chomp down on a bacon bit in the same way you can with a bacon slice. The two aren't the same thing, no matter what Dad says. Pictures are below of the two packages.

Story

I'm trying to use up the bacon slices. I have 2 left out of a 12-pack box. I had 3 left, but I used one; now I have 2. Since today was Thursday, Dad had been out grocery shopping, so he was in the kitchen. I got the bacon slices out, and he started going on about how the Kirkland bacon bits are "20 packages of bacon slices for the same price as that." I did try to explain there's a difference in how I need twice as many bacon bits to get one bacon slice and how I can't just chomp down on a bacon bit the same way you can chomp down on a bacon slice. But he said, "I don't care; why don't you listen to me about trying to save your money to live on your own?"

But I just asked him to go talk to Mom because at least Mom understands there's some kind of difference between the bacon slices and bacon bits. But he wouldn't. So I went (and he said something on my way, "I don't care if you fly to the moon!") and told Mom about Dad's behaviour. Mom said she will talk about it with him—I guess reminding him of the fact I "have so little control" over my own life. (And let's just forget the fact that if I were living on my own, I wouldn't be able to get to any Costco; I don't drive, and I don't have a Costco membership.)

@Amanda84  I don't mind bacon bits but that's all we ever have with bacon and we had bacon bits since about let's see 2014.  it's kind of boring vs bacon slices
