Dad's claiming "not me" again.
So Dad's at it again for saying "he didn't do" something or other. Mom and I joke it's "Not Me" like in Family Circus.
Background:
Whenever I cook either for myself or the family I don't like to put my compost on the counter or on a paper town (it's difficult to move in a paper towel) so I like to put it in a container where I put the compost from my making supper. I normally keep 2 containers for that reason in the left sink because it's mostly out of the way. We don't use the left sink really. It's easier for me to move the compost from the counter if it's in a container Additionally when Dad claims he didn't do it, when he's the only other person who could do it- Mom and I joke it's "not me".
Story:
So I was downstairs getting my third drink of the day ready and I suddenly notice the left sink was a bit more emptier then normal. Then I notice both the containers I use for compost were gone! Mom doesn't have a reason to remove the containers from the sink and I certainly didn't move them. I'm pretty sure they're in the sink this morning and I was the first person up. So that leaves only one other person in the house who is probably stupid enough to do that: Dad.
This isn't the first time I had to replace my container-to-take-compost-to-the-compost-bin in the kitchen. He did it a year ago as well and also claimed "its wasn't him". In that case he threw it out. It's why I had two in there until today.
So tomorrow is a "make your own supper" night. I really want to make eggs&toast tomorrow. But the last two times I made it, Dad either yelled at me or he claimed "he didn't tell me to put toast down". I already mentioned both stories before, but I will tell them again:
in Dec 2024 I was making supper-in this case it was because Mom was at party hosted by one of my former Education Assistants. I had a Caesar salad with cuke and Carrots and Dad was being noisy about what I was going to have in my omelet "are you going to put veggies in that?" and I tried to tell him that I had a salad on the time and Dad just yelled at me "You aren't cooking the salad!" without giving me a chance to explain that I had cuke and carrot in the salad.
This January I was making eggs&toast and Mom wasn't avaible I think it was for a party of some kind. I needed Dad's help with flipping the eggs and he told me at some point to "put the toast down" and then when the egg needed to be flipped he wanted to cook the other half of my eggs in the mircowave but he couldn't because 1. I had a toast in the microwave I needed to get it warm somehow and 2. I was going to make garlic toast in the microwave. Then Dad claimed "he never told me to put the toast down" when he literally had told me that. He threatend to leave me alone to cook the food. He claimed he hadn't done that and "I had took it on myself" but he litereally told me to "pop the toast" when the egg wasn't finished and he didn't listen when I tried to tell him the toast would be cold by the time the egg was done.
So because of those two toast & eggs stories, I want to have Mom talk to Dad tomorrow before she leaves for choir practice because I know Dad wouldn't listen to me. Mom said I need to talk calmy to him about X or Y. Yeah I talked calmy to Dad last Thursday last week and the result? Dad threw a chair across the dinning room basically!
