Dad ticks me off about not sleeping until noon on Easter sunday because I went to Sunrise Service
I'm really ticked off with Dad. I got up for sunrise service down by the lake (it was at 7am) and then when i came back (at 7:45am) I went back to bed. I got up for good at 10:20am much later then I would on a Sunday when I have been getting up for months at 9:45am because I want to get jobs done before lunch which also includes having a shower when i didn't have one last night. I don't like pushing back my stuff really except on Saturdays when I sleep until 11:15am
When I went down Dad said "why didn't you have sleep until noon? It would make up for getting up earlier" and when i was down there at 10:20am I was wide awake again. IF I slept until noon everything would be backed up, and i wanted to get 3 of my jobs done before I had lunch.

Hey,
I can totally understand why you’re annoyed with your dad right now. You made the effort to wake up early for the sunrise by the lake (that’s really nice actually), and when you got home you just took a short nap. Waking up at 10:20 still feels reasonable to me, especially since you want to get things done before lunch — including showering from last night.
Your dad’s comment “Just sleep until noon to make up for waking up early” probably came from a place of wanting you to rest, but it missed the point. You’re not trying to be lazy — you actually value having a productive morning and finishing your tasks. That’s a good habit.
It sounds frustrating when someone suggests something that goes against how you want to structure your day. Have you tried explaining to him calmly why waking up at 10:20 and getting your 3 tasks done before lunch is important to you?
You’re not wrong for feeling this way. Wanting to stay disciplined with your routine, even on weekends, shows you care about your time and responsibilities.
I’m here if you want to vent more about it or talk about how to handle the conversation with your dad.
Take care ❤️
@Sea4pplesfunny546 I mean 10:20am is late for a normal Sunday for me. Since i been getting up at 9:45am on Sundays for months to have 25-30mins on the computer before having a shower so I can get my jobs done.
The only reason I get up at that time because I got really fed up with one problem every Sunday during the "school year" (Sept-June) unless my sister is visiting. Dad having the Kitchen TV on so loud, I can hear it on the stairs' landing which split between the upstairs, downstairs and the computer/library room. Having to deal with that every Sunday would drive anyone to get up at 9:45am
